Beyoncé: Rise Review + Giveaway

Beyonce launches her new perfume Rise in February of 2014. The concept that lies behind the creation of this fragrance was inspired by Beyonce’s on-stage personal, as well as by “female empowerment and finding the inner strength that makes women so beautiful".  The fragrance is supposedly more intimate and more natural than the previous ones, inspired by the works of singer's favorite poet Maya Angelou.

BEYONCÉ
RISE 100ML
RRP: $59

Like all of Beyoncé past perfumes, this too is based around her favourite flower, the orchid, Beyoncé RISE has incorporated a gold symphony orchid. Its unique shape resembles a musical instrument, the perfect symbol for Beyoncé and features a rich, intoxicating floral scent.

RISE comes in a tall, elegant, classy glass bottle. It features a gold spike crown lid, which is very Queen B of her. The perfume itself is champagne / goldy in the bottle. Beyoncé believes all women’s power comes from within and when she connects with her very essence, she reveals her true individuality, strength and her inner beauty and this fragrance encourages all women to be all that they can be.

Before receiving this goodie in the mail, my sisters and I were test smelling it in our local Priceline. I sprayed this on my skin, the scent was quite familiar but I couldn't pin point it at the time. Until I was trying more perfumes at work and I came across Yves Saint Laurent's perfume called Manifesto, It was almost an exact dupe. I was quite surprised.

Rise has notes of apricot, Italian bergamot and iced basil sorbet. The main note of the perfume is  "Golden Symphony" orchid mixed with freesia and Sambac jasmine flowers.  Base notes are autumn woods, cashmere, musk and vetiver.

Rise has a true strong scent, which is quite over powering at first. So a little can go a long way. The main notes that you can smell are musk and wood, which isn't my personal favourite as I'm more for a fruity / floral scent. However if you prefer woody and musky scents, this is totally for you. It gives you a warm feeling, so definitely perfect for the colder months. Its truly gorgeous. It's very Lady like. The perfume really does justice to its name.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow: My Two Cents Review *

When I discover a makeup brand, I immediately fall in love with it, that I honestly buy all of their products, get home, swatch it all over my hand / arm and throw it all over my face. I've always wanted to do that with Benefit products. Every blogger and vlogger raves about Benefit, including my older sister! So I was overwhelmed to get this sent out.

" Benefits award-winning cream shadows are as crease-proof & budge-proof as ever! The 10 incredibly wearable shades (including original favourites r.s.v.p., birthday suit and skinny jeans) glide on easily and last all day long. It’s fresh & fabulous colour for all.  Creaseless Cream Shadow
My Two Cents
RRP: $29 AUD

If you know me personally, you'd know that I'm a huge sucker for bronzy, browny and warm tones. They just match my skin tone perfectly, as I love to keep my makeup neutral and bronzed all year round. So there was no surprise knowing that I'd love this My Two Cents cream shadow.

The Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow: My Two Cents is extremely creamy and smooth with a bronzed shimmery effect. The texture is just like butter and they're much creamier and smooth than the Maybelline Color Tattoos. I'd describe it as a soft taupe-bronze shade, not champagne, nude or a metallic tone, it's just a neutral shimmery bronzed finish. Once the shadow sets, it doesn't smudge or move. It's super easy to work with and even easier to blend.

Let's all appreciate the cuteness and vintage look of this packaging. I'm in love with it! It's honestly to cute that I have no words for it. It's definitely different from others I've seen, so it's a great display box for the desk. Huge points to Benefit!

Overall, I really love My Two Cents and I love even more that I don't need to use a primer to make them last on my lids. It's so rich and creamy and it doesn't fade nor loses its colour through out the day.  Benefit has definitely made a winner on these, I can't wait to build up my creaseless cream eyeshadow collection :)

NYX: Matte Bronzer In Light Review

" Perfect for Spring, Summer and beyond! – the Matte Bronzers have arrived! Achieve a natural and healthy looking complexion using any of the powder bronzers available in many shades. Perfect for that desired honey glow all year long! " - NYX

How many bronzers does one woman need? Apparently I decided I needed another one.  I already have quite a stash of bronzers in my makeup collection but I wanted something a bit lighter for an all over natural look. When it comes to bronzers, I search for something that matte, non shimmery and not too orange on my skin. This Bronzer is perfect! I've been using using it for over two months now and I must admit, it's my holy grail Bronzer!

NYX MATTE BRONZER
LIGHT #1
RRP: $17.95 AUD

I've been mixing up the NYX Bronzer for a more defined & contoured look. First ill use the Real Techniques Blush Brush to sweep across my face, to warm it up a bit. Then using NARS Ita brush to define / contour to sculpture my face. The shade is a very neutral, isn't to orange, nor 'muddy'. I use this for all over  and it even when I pile it on, it still looks natural.

The packaging is so lovely. So sleek looking and has a mirror inside which is always nice to have in most any compact product. The fact that the texture is matte is a big selling point for me. I'm not crazy about shimmery bronzers and most bronzers out there have way too much shimmer for my liking. It is well pigmented and it doesn't take much to add dimension and contour to my face with this.
Overall, I think this is a beautiful warm bronzer that has excellent color payoff and is something I can easily work with. It is a beautiful product, Super easy to blend, plus it's fully matte. I definitely recommended everyone to try this product. :)
