KEEN SKIN - Coffee Soap Scrub Review

Wake your skin up with a bar full of goodness. this soap scrub is perfect for giving a soft, firm, healthy glow.

Keen currently launched their online website, and I was lucky enough to help them promote their brand. If you're unsure what Keen is, ill quickly run you through it. Keen Skin is targeting customers through their online Instagram site, selling their coffee soap scrub. It's very different to many of the other coffee scrubs on the market. Having their scrub in a soap / bar form allows us them to add many different essential and healthy ingredients for the skin that you could not include in a regular scrubs! The process is also a lot more difficult. It takes 3 hours to create 1 loaf, then a further 24 hours to set and cut. Then another 24 hours to cure, only to be ready for us!

I have came across many coffee scrubs before and can honestly say Keen is so much easier to use. I got faster results, didn't have to spend extra time in the shower, and it was less messy! Keen Coffee Soap Scrub comes in a bar filled with healthy ingredients that help restore moisture, get rid of skin problems, leaves the skin feeling super soft and smooth and also leaves a light, pleasant scent.

With a coffee soap scrub it's super super easy to hold in the palm of your hands and start scrubbing in circular motions. The exfoliation beards are bigger and harder, which deeply exfoliates the skin giving it more of an affect. Upon opening the package, I smelt the coffee scent straight away, it was quite strong, but definitely smelt delicious, I started to crave coffee but what I really wanted to do was jump straight into the shower an scrub.

Quite simple to use - take Keen into the shower with you and start scrubbing. Had the water slightly running, then started rubbing in circular motions - targeting areas and all over my body until lather. I noticed instantly the exfoliation beards ( little black dots) that were deeply exfoliating the skin. It helped remove any dead skin. The caffeine in the coffee provides a tightening effect. (Which I felt on my arms, thighs and face)

There was improvements of skin tone, and my skin felt tighter. I was also amazed about how clean and exfoliated my skin was. The soap did leave a light coffee scent, which was quite pleasant :)

I would definitely recommend this soap scrub for anyone who's seeking a deep cleanse, wanting to help restore their skin appearance, who fake tans regularly and of course anyone who just likes to scrub their body.

How To: Sanitize Your Make-Up

when it comes to sharing cosmetics, trying them in stores and also buying second hand cosmetics, it's always important to sanitize your products, check for expiration dates and also question yourself before purchasing cube full of formula.

Today, I'm going to talk about sanitizing and expiration dates. This will be a "go-to-guideline" to keep in mind when sharing and selling your pre-loved products

When it comes to hygiene, everyone is quite different - some will be alright sharing products with their friends and don't mind selling them, but then there's people like me - who stand clear from using anything that's touched someone else's skin. I've always been very good at makeup hygiene, and it's super important to know about it. This is help recuse break outs and nasty pink eye!

So let's get down to the basics:

• Mascara
• Concealer's
• Lip Glosses
• Everything else that comes in a tube with a wand applicator.

There's honestly no point in sanitizing mascara, it already has an expiration date - which is three months from opening. Also once you share that, there's no way of sanitizing it. It's now been contaminated. So make sure you have disposable wands in your makeup kit, that way you don't have to share and you can keep using your mascara for the full 3 months and never pump your wands. Doing so pushes air into the tube which promotes rapid bacteria growth.

Same goes with lip gloss, concealers and every other cosmetics that's in a liquid formula in a tube. Once that wand applicator goes back into the tube, its classed as contaminated. There is no way of cleaning inside the tube.

These products are super easy to clean, you can purchase sanitized makeup wipes that can quickly and safely clean your powders without any dramas. You can only use a tissue and lightly pat the top layer on the powder, this will help remove any oils that have came off your fingers / makeup brushes. Another way to sanitize them is using a cotton ball or spritz the top of your powders with the spray bottle of alcohol and set aside to dry.

easiest way to clean these pencils, is to clean the entire product. Using a alcohol spray - spray the outside of the pencil, the top then wipe lightly with a paper towel. Also spray the sharpener and the cap (if there's one) Sharpening the pencil is also an option, that way you have a fresh tip.

• Mousses
• Creams
• Gel

These items are a bit tricker. you  might want to actually scrape off the top portion and as long as it doesn't look mixed and dipped through the bottom, the bottom portion are pretty much safe.

• Lip Sticks

Lipstick is one of the easiest items to sanitize.Using the paper towel, gently wipe the tip of the lip stick getting rid of any residue that may sit on top. Fully extend the lipstick and dunk into a cup of rubbing alcohol. At this point you can set the lip stick aside to dry while you clean the cap.

• Brushes

Its definitely a job that needs to be done, must clean your brushes so bacteria and other offenders don't block up the pores or make break outs. It's basic hygiene! For brushes that are used daily ( without sharing) I suggested cleaning at least once a week. If you share your brushes, do not use them until you've washed them. By doing so - your brushes won't have the other persons oils and bacteria getting transferred on your skin.

If you haven't noticed from my last couple of posts, I'm a girl that suffers from dark circles, puffiness and just looking plain tried in the face. As I work in retail, I'm always searching for products that can help keep my face looking fresh, healthy and to maintain my appearance. As customers are looking at my face 24/7. It's important that I have my fresh face on.

Working with local communities, we found the land to be full of rosewood trees and over the past few years we’ve worked with the locals on the ground there to set up a sustainable supply of rosewood oil, with their own distillation machinery to enable them to produce the oil on site. WHITE ON WHITE 

If you hadn't noticed by now, that white is the hottest colour on trend, at this very moment. On trend this Summer is wearing white from head to toe. Since its such a fabulous colour, it's super easy to stand out with bold jewellery pieces. Don't blend in with everyone that's wearing prints, colour, black or monochromes, white is now! I know many aren't brave enough to wear white (blame that time of the month) but its truly sassy and ultra polished look. It’s a breath of fresh air!
