Bellabox - October 2013

This months Bellabox came earlier than expected! I received this on the 10th, which normally doesn't get sent out until the 15th, which I'm not complaining.. Was pretty good, I must say. The theme for October is: Celebration, to celebrate Bellabox's 2nd Birthday and they also teamed up with They All Hate Us duos to help create this box. I was pretty excited about this months, due to the L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse lip product being inside.

This was included into the box, but wasn't on beauty checklist. I checked others bloggers reviews, and noticed that some of them didn't receive one. Guessing it was limited to some boxes. I love going to the movies, and this movie does seem very interesting, comes out November 28th.
Did anyone else receive a movie ticket.. or anything else that wasn't included on the list? Id love to know.
 
 
So that sums it up, I really like the box this month. great products, however I dislike the fact that some products tend to get repeated, like the Bioderma Sebium Exfoliating Gel & Maybelline New York Dream Pure BB Cream. Other then that, I'm looking forward to see what's in store for next month. Happy 2nd Birthday Bellabox!

LUSH: BIG Sea Salt Shampoo - Review

BIG is a volumizing sea salt shampoo in a true sense, because it contains whole grains of sea salt. It basically looks like a rice-pudding-like base formula with big sea salt particles in it. The result of BIG is really shiny hair, full of volume, restored moisture and maintain healthy hair. The difference between BIG and other brands, is that BIG actually delivers what the other brands only promise.

I have been on a search for a shampoo product that honestly gives me lots of volume. I do have fairly thick black hair to begin with but I straighten my hair regularly and want the volume to last me more than a day. I have tried many other brands of shampoo and conditioner in the past and saw had no additional body or volume after using them.



The smell of the shampoo is kinda hard to describe because I personally cant think of any words that could compare it to, nor am I good at describing scents. However its rather nice, at least in my opinion, a kind of beachy fresh scent with a hint of ocean breeze.

I take the littlest amount of product into my hands and work it onto my scalp and crown. After I have worked the product onto my hair, add a dash of water that coats your head then work up a nice lather. It lathers up quite quickly and very thick, so take advantage while you can. It's very time consuming to really scrub your roots, but the more scrubbing, the better the results.



I love the sea salt in this mixture, really cleans and purifies the hair. My hair feels nice, looks shiny and smells great. most importantly has that extra voluminous. However; this should NOT be used as a daily shampoo! Depending on how oily your hair gets I would recommend using it once or twice (for extra oily hair) a week. I would absolutely recommend this shampoo to anyone looking to add volume, deep clean and make their hair last longer between shampoos.

I've been using Sunset Body Balm for a now, its really helped restore moisture back into my skin and also giving that sweet, fragrance scent that's perfect for preparing the skin for Summer. The formula is a thick, white cream that can be easily applied to the skin in small amounts, the scent is very powerful, and smells exactly like frangipanis.

The scent does last all day, and that's without lifting my arm up to my nose to smell it. I've always been asked what kind of fragrance I wear, then when I say its actually a body balm, people tend to get shocked. Within a couple of days, my skin started to feel a lot more softer and smoother. Even without applying it, I still had the frangipani scent on me.


I really like how Sugar Baby advertises their products within the store and also detail to packaging. Everything in their range is very affordable, with great quality and results. The formula comes in a circular brown tinted, plastic container with a rose gold screw lid. Packaging is kept nice and simple, definitely eye catching enough.

This body balm is suitable for all skin types, as it doesn't irritate the skin nor has that thick feeling towards the skin. It absorbs very fast, and the scent is amazing! Even perfect to apply straight after waxing / shaving. I'm super happy with the results I received from this body balm, I recommend everyone to dash out and buy this product. Its a must have!

LUSH Ultrabalm - Review

I honestly cant get enough of lip balm products, if you were to look inside my bag and pull out every single lip product, youd find more then 6 or maybe 10 :P. Different balms for different days, but lately Ive been loving this LUSH Ultrabalm that I can just spread all over my face like butter. haha.

Ultrabalm is the perfect all natural substitute for Vaseline & other Petroleum Jelly products. I was recommended this product from the LUSH staff for my flakey, dry flu nose and also for my lips during the Winter time. To be honest, I couldn't thank them enough. Its really helped restore moisture back into my dry areas on my face and for the price of the product, its totally worth it. Only using the smallest amount can really make a huge difference.
 
The product doesn't have much of a scent, its kept very simple and plain, which I personally like. I was very pleased to find out that the formula is kept all organic and natural with only three ingredients: Jojoba Oil, Rose Wax and Candeilla Wax. At first I was thinking about how oily and greasy it would be on my skin, but I was proved wrong. This product absorbs really well and quickly, without leaving your skin feeling oily or greasy.
 
I don't only use this Unltrabalm on my lips, but also on dry areas of my face / body, elbows, heels and also the ends of my hair. Its truly the life saver of all treatments. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that's looking for a replacement for that Lucas Paw Paw haha.

I've been wanting to try EOS lip balms for awhile now, but sadly Australia doesn't sell them. I first discovered them when I saw Kim Kardashian & Kylie Jenner post selfies on Instagram with it, then they showed up in Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" music video.

I brought one for $7.99 off a legit EOS ebay seller, the product was 100% real! i got the Sweet Mint, as mint is perfect for those winter / spring lips that need some extra smoothness during those colder months.

EOS stands for Evolution Of Smooth, which is 95% organic, 100% natural, and para been and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, smoothing Shea butter and Jojoba Oil. EOS claims to keep your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.


Which I must say it does: with one coat on the lips, it lasts longer then usual lip balms. Leaving my lips very smooth, little shine and doesnt have the oiliness like some other brands. The scent is very pleasant and strong, you can definitely smell the mint, which opens my blocked nose quite well. 


The product itself is shaped like an egg, you twist the lid and you find a little lip balm ball. I find that it's so much easier to apply and very hygienic, as you don't have to stick your dirty fingers into a pot.


I'm loving this lip balm, I can't help myself. I tend to apply it every second, it's crazy. I highly recommend this to anyone that's looking for a new lip balm or just wants to try a new brand. It does come in many other scents, so definitely check them out. I'll be sure to upload my mini EOS haul photo soon.

September Favorites :)


September was a great month for discovering new products, from body, face to jewellery. These are the products I've been loving through out last month, so I'm just going to jump straight into it.

Couleur Caramel

This mascara lengthens and separated my lashes quite impressively. I was super impressed how my lashes looked and felt after I've applied this product. It felt super soft and didn't flake through out the day. This mascara does have a scent, which is a pleasant smell. Kinda like coco butter but better. Which I found quite nice, as many mascaras don't have a pleasant scent. Its a water based formula enriched with soothing acaria gum, protective beeswax and shea butter. It leaves a natural curl in your lashes upon applied, almost looks like fake lashes. The best thing about it, Its all natural!

Lash Accelerator is used for my everyday makeup, I wore this almost everyday of September, as it looks natural and instantly adds length. I did notice some changes. My lashes appeared longer and stronger. I was asked many times if I got lash extensions or if I was wearing fakes. The brush is lash-catching to give the perfect separation without clumping. Its the perfect mascara if you're wanting cute, girly eyes.

Great liquid eyeliner for precise, controlled application every time. Very fine tip glides smoothly onto the lid, delivering colour intensity in a single sweep. This liner creates a subtle definition using the tip of the liner for a thick black line with a dramatic finish. By using the side of the pen, you can create a bold, thick, glamorous cat eye. Loved how this liner didn't crack like other liners, lasted the whole day. So easy to wash off at night too.

Ive always loved and used Swisspers cleaning wipes as theyre actually made to do the job. It removes all my makeup off, even those water proof mascaras. Also cleanses, tones and moisturisers without drying out your skin. Leaves it feeling like a babies bum haha. Im really liking the product changes to the packaging. They've now got a plastic flip cover instead of the adhesive that most makeup wipes have, which lead to drying out. So the flip cover was a smart choice, really does make your wipes last longer. The sheets are fairly big that it covers my whole face and also a lot thicker, which makes it easier to use. They're perfect for those lazy nights where you cant be bother walking to the bathroom, easy to store in your bag or inside your bed side table. If you haven't tried these, what are you waiting for?

The femininity of downtown s displayed in a light soft pink colouring bottle. The liquid is a pink tone, which sprays on clear. I found the colouring to be very cute, girly and sweet. The cap of the bottle is a silver hollow design with a bright fushsia accents that adds a modern edge. Which using your cap to filter your photos, so you can enter that Calvin Klein competition on instragam. The fragrance balances feminine woods with soft floral notes. Opening with Italian Cedrat, Bergamot, Tunisian Neroli, Green Pear and Watery Plum. Downtown is developed with notes of Pink Peppercorn, Violet Leaf and Gardenia Petals and dries down with Texan Cedarwood and Velvet Musks. Which you can really smell the warm musky, woody scent while wearing it.

This product makes shower ten times funnier. Actually, using LUSH products are fun full stop. This Rub Rub Rub is a bit of a variation on the normal shower gel. Its packed full of mineral-rich with Sea Salt and a refreshing dash of lemon juice and the tropical scent of mimosa blossom that gently exfoliating the skin, leaving it feeling super soft and shiny. I tend to use once a week, maybe twice when fake tanning, to ensure I get all that dry, dead skin off before applying a gorgeous tan. Its suitable for all skin types. I got this necklace from my boyfriend as a gift to celebrate our 2 years together. Before receiving it, I was eye balling it at work, as its just a gorgeous piece. I wanted it so bad, that I saved it as my wallpaper on my phone (how sad am I?) I was actually going to reward myself with this necklace for all the hard work I did with opening David Jones Malvern Store. As Marc Jacobs is a very popular brand, it kept selling out. Guess I have expensive taste. So I was glad my boyfriend was actually paying attention this year round and brought it for me. Decorated with enamel stars, silver engraved balls and enamel logo discs by Marc By Marc Jacobs/ The aqua blue enamel contrasts beautifully with the gold-tone chain.

The femininity of Downtown is displayed in a light soft pink colouring bottle. The liquid is also a pink colour, which sprays on clear. I found the colour to be very cute and sweet. The cap of the bottle is silver with a hollow design with bright fuchsia accents adds a modern edge, representing strong femininity. With the cap, you can use it as a filter for your photos.

With this fragrance, I've really enjoyed wearing it. It's such a pleasant scent, very warm and lasts a long time. I tend to get a few customers at my work asking me what I'm wearing. I don't have much of a fragrance collection just yet, but this fragrance will definitely be in it. It's perfect to wear day and night. Just one spay on the neck and it lasts all day.
